More than 15 thousand professionals in the sector and 50 official delegations from 35 countries are expected to participate in the 5th LAAD Security & Defence.
The security and defense industry is about to experience one of the main events on the international calendar: the 5th edition of LAAD Security & Defense. Scheduled for April 2nd to 4th, 2024, at the Transamérica Expo Center, in São Paulo, the event will bring together the main players public security, private security and defense.
As a sister event to LAAD Defense & Security, held biennially in Rio de Janeiro in odd-numbered years, the LAAD Security & Defence takes place in the capital of São Paulo in even years. Focusing on the security and defense sector, it concentrates Brazilian and international companies dedicated to developing solutions in technologies, equipment and services for Public Security, Police Forces, Special Forces, Armed Forces, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security and Security Managers of Large Corporations, Service and Critical Infrastructure Concessionaires in Brazil and Latin America.
The fair offers the opportunity to connect exhibiting companies with qualified visitors, international delegations and public security and defense authorities.
“We will have more than 150 exhibitors in 20 countries, and we will receive 50 delegations in 35 countries, who come to the country to explore business opportunities with world-class suppliers”, says Sergio Jardim, general director of Creative Events, the company organizing the event. He adds that they are scheduled 650 meetings between exhibiting companies and official delegations.
Innovation and Investments
The event occurs at a time of widespread pressure to increase efficiency in public and private security systems. Both the public and private sectors are investing considerable sums in the development of technology and equipment solutions. According to the Comptroller General of the Union, of the R$ 16.75 billion defined in the 2023 federal budget for public security, R$ 10.81 billion has already been invested. Additionally, the federal government has committed to releasing more than R$ 1 billion this year, from the National Public Security Fund (Transparency Portal).
On the private sector side, the trend is towards an increase in investments in security. According to a survey carried out at the beginning of this year by the electronic security technology company Avantia, 45% of Brazilian companies plan to increase investments in security. The study consulted around 50 organizations in the sector.
“The expectation is to receive 15 thousand professionals from the sector, a qualified visitation, made up of authorities from the three Armed Forces, Police Forces, Special Forces, executives from the security and defense industry and government agencies, international delegations and the national production chain. IX LAAD Security Seminar
Acting as a hub for generating knowledge and technical expertise, the LAAD Security & Defence 2024 programmed the IX LAAD Security Seminar, which will take place during the three days of the fair. The program is in the definition phase, considering future security and defense trends, and will soon be announced.
Business Roundtables in Public Security
A LAAD Security & Defense 2024 provides a meeting between logistics and acquisition professionals from police organizations and companies that supply equipment, services and technologies. Meetings are pre-programmed and take place in a dedicated space provided by the fair organization.
